Promotion Strategies

Use these promotion strategies to introduce ePlatform to students, staff, and families and to keep the digital collection visible throughout the school year.

ePlatform provides ready-to-use promotional materials, video tutorials, and templates through the Admin area. This guide also includes practical ideas shared by existing ePlatform schools.

Promotion video tutorial

Watch this tutorial for an introduction to promoting ePlatform at your school.

Ready-to-use promotional materials

Go to Admin area → Library → Promotional Materials to access the promotional resources included with your ePlatform membership.

Resource	How it can be used
Posters, bookmarks, and banners	Promote ePlatform in the library, classrooms, corridors, and other school spaces.
Social media images	Share ePlatform through the school's social media accounts. Images are available in sizes prepared for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Letter templates	Introduce ePlatform to staff and families or promote reading during school holidays.
Awards and certificates	Recognise student participation or borrowing achievements in line with your school's policies.
High-resolution logos	Create your own school communications or promotional designs.
Video tutorials	Demonstrate ePlatform features to students, teachers, librarians, and administrators.

The digital promotional resources can be downloaded from the Promotional Materials area. Letter templates are provided in an editable Word document format so you can add your school's access and login instructions.

Make access information easy to find

Students are more likely to use ePlatform when they know where to find the library and how to log in.

Provide the web address

Add your library's unique ePlatform web address to the places students already use, such as:

the school website;
the student portal;
the library page;
class resources;
school notices; and
your Library Management System, if it is connected to ePlatform.

Provide app instructions

If students will use the mobile or tablet app, provide the information they need to add the library:

the school or library name;
the library's setup code; or
the library's ePlatform QR code.

A setup code or QR code adds the library to the app. Students may still need to log in using the patron account or SSO method provided by the school.

Explain whether students should use:

a username, library ID, or barcode and password; or
the school's Single Sign-On option.

Use a library lesson, classroom session, or computer-lab session to help students:

open the correct ePlatform library;
log in;
search or browse for a title;
borrow an available title; and
begin reading or listening.

Tell students who they should contact at school if they cannot log in.

Engage students

Demonstrate eBooks and Audiobooks

Use a classroom screen, library display, or assembly presentation to show students how to find and borrow a title.

Play short Audiobook samples to demonstrate the narration, accents, music, or sound effects available in the collection.

Run student competitions

Competition ideas used or suggested in the existing promotion resources include:

celebrating a student's first eBook or Audiobook loan;
designing an ePlatform promotional poster;
creating a homepage banner;
recognising borrowing participation; and
creating student book recommendations.

If a student design is suitable, it can be displayed around the school or used as part of the library homepage.

Create student digital champions

Student library ambassadors or digital champions can help other students learn how to use ePlatform.

They could:

help with student demonstrations;
create “Top 5” reading lists;
record short video book reviews;
recommend titles through school notices; or
run student-led library sessions.

Connect physical and digital displays

Use physical library displays to make digital titles visible.

Ideas from the existing article include:

displaying ePlatform posters and bookmarks near physical books;
using shelf wobblers to identify titles available digitally;
placing printed cover images or empty DVD cases on shelves to represent eBooks and Audiobooks; and
using a student enquiry about a print title as an opportunity to check whether it is available through ePlatform.

Recognise student participation

Use Admin area → View Analytics & Reports → Analytics Overview to review borrowing activity.

If your school recognises student participation, use the available awards and certificates in line with your school's privacy and recognition policies.

Engage staff

Include ePlatform in staff induction

Introduce ePlatform to new and existing staff at the beginning of the school year.

Give teachers time to:

open the library;
log in;
browse the collection;
borrow and open a title;
review the student experience; and
learn where to find help.

Staff who have used ePlatform themselves will be better prepared to demonstrate it to students.

Send an all-staff introduction

Use the staff email template available from Admin area → Library → Promotional Materials.

Add your school's:

ePlatform web address;
app setup code or QR code;
login instructions;
local contact for patron-account questions; and
technical support contact.

Show departments the relevant features

English: Highlight class novels, eBooks, Audiobooks, and available classic titles.
Learning support: Demonstrate Audiobooks and available eBook display settings, including Dyslexia-friendly fonts, background colours, and line focus.
EAL/D, ESOL, and language departments: Demonstrate Audiobook narration and the available Decodable Readers.
Primary staff: Demonstrate Decodable Readers and the available teaching resources.
Secondary staff: Demonstrate Notes and Highlights for recording information while reading.

Use ePlatform in teaching

Staff can incorporate ePlatform into:

silent reading or DEAR time;
class novel studies;
homework and reading assignments;
subject-specific reading lists;
curriculum compilations on the library homepage; and
class discussions about recommended titles.

Teachers can use the class tools to create classes and assign books.

Classes: Admin area → Manage Classes → Add Classes.
Book assignments: Admin area → Manage Classes → Assign Books.

Create subject-specific homepage compilations

Work with teachers to create homepage compilations for subjects, year levels, events, or units of work.

Go to Admin area → Customise Library Homepage & Compilation → Library Homepage & Compilation.

Engage families

Explain access from home

Tell families that students can use their school's ePlatform collection outside school through the web portal or mobile app.

Include the school's access and login instructions in family communications.

Encourage family listening

Suggest that families listen to Audiobooks together during travel, commutes, or shared reading time.

Explain the available reading support

Introduce families to the available eBook display settings and Audiobooks when these features may support a student's reading.

Use seasonal communications

Use the parent and holiday templates available from Admin area → Library → Promotional Materials before school holidays or other extended breaks.

Edit the templates to include your school's ePlatform web address, app instructions, and login information.

Demonstrate ePlatform at school events

Include a short ePlatform demonstration at events such as back-to-school evenings, parent information sessions, or literacy events.

Show families how students open the school's library, find a title, and begin reading or listening. Do not distribute individual student passwords during a public demonstration.

Monitor engagement

Go to Admin area → View Analytics & Reports → Analytics Overview to review:

total loans;
total reserves;
active patrons;
active titles;
borrowing trends;
popular titles; and
whether patrons are accessing ePlatform through the web portal, mobile apps, or Library Management System.

Use the available date filters to compare activity before and after a launch, campaign, classroom demonstration, or school-holiday promotion.

Frequently asked questions

Do promotional materials cost extra?

No. The existing ePlatform promotional resources are included with your ePlatform membership and can be downloaded from the Promotional Materials area.

Where can I find the promotional materials?

Go to Admin area → Library → Promotional Materials.

Can I customise the letter and email templates?

Yes. The templates are provided as editable Word documents. Add your school's branding, ePlatform web address, app instructions, and login information before sharing them.

No. The available social media images are prepared in sizes suitable for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Download the image and upload it through your school's approved social media process.

Where can I find student video tutorials?

Student tutorials are available in the Promotional Materials area, in ePlatform Video Tutorials, and on the ePlatform Digital Libraries YouTube channel.

Can I create my own promotional designs?

Yes. High-resolution ePlatform logos are available from the Promotional Materials area for schools creating their own communications or designs.

Where should I start?

A practical starting point is to combine:

physical visibility: display posters and distribute bookmarks; and
digital access: add a clear ePlatform link to the school website or student portal.

Follow this with a short student demonstration showing how to log in, find a title, and begin reading or listening.

Are the promotional bookmarks and resources editable?

Only resources marked as editable can be customised. Not every promotional file is editable. If you need an editable version that is not provided, email ebooks@eplatform.co or contact ePlatform Support.
