Why Was My Reserved Title Borrowed Automatically?
A reserved title can be borrowed automatically when Reserve Ready Auto Borrow? is enabled in your ePlatform profile.
This feature means you do not need to keep checking whether a reserved title has become available.
How Reserve Ready Auto Borrow? works
When you reserve an unavailable title, ePlatform keeps track of the reservation.
If Reserve Ready Auto Borrow? is enabled, ePlatform borrows the title for you when a copy becomes available. The title then appears with your active loans.
Check the setting
- Open the Profile menu.
- Find Reserve Ready Auto Borrow?.
- Check whether the setting is enabled.
Turn off Reserve Ready Auto Borrow?
If you do not want future reserved titles borrowed automatically:
- Open the Profile menu.
- Find Reserve Ready Auto Borrow?.
- Disable the setting.
You can continue to reserve unavailable titles and manage them from your account.
If you do not recognise the loan
Check whether you previously reserved the title and whether Reserve Ready Auto Borrow? is enabled.
If you no longer want the automatically borrowed title, open Loans and select Return, provided the title was not assigned by your school.
Need help?
Ask your teacher or librarian if a title was borrowed automatically but you cannot find the corresponding reservation or profile setting.
Library staff can email support@eplatform.co and include:
