An eBook Won’t Open or Load
An eBook must be borrowed and available in your Loans before it can be opened in the ePlatform Reader.
Check that the eBook is on loan
- Open Loans.
- Find the eBook you want to read.
- Confirm that it is still part of your active loans.
- Select Read.
If the loan has expired, the eBook returns to the library automatically and must be borrowed again before it can be opened.
Open the eBook
Select Read to open the ePlatform Reader. When the book opens, tap the centre of the screen to display the reading controls.
Check your internet connection
An internet connection is required when opening an eBook that has not already been stored for offline reading.
- Confirm that your device is connected to the internet.
- Return to Loans.
- Open the eBook again.
- Wait for the reader to load.
App and browser troubleshooting
In the ePlatform app
- Check your app store for an ePlatform update.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart your device.
- Sign out of ePlatform and sign in again.
- Return to Loans and open the eBook.
In a web browser
- Refresh the page.
- Open the eBook again from Loans.
- If it still does not load, try another web browser.
- Sign out and sign in again.
If you are offline
An eBook must be opened while connected to the internet before it can be read offline in the app.
If the eBook was not completely stored before the device went offline, reconnect to the internet, open the title, and wait for the completed-download indicator.
Need help?
Ask your teacher or librarian if the eBook still does not open.
Library staff can email support@eplatform.co and include:
- the library name;
- the title and ISBN;
- the affected patron account;
- whether the problem occurs in the app, browser, or both; and
- the error message displayed, if any.
