Returning or Renewing an eBook or Audiobook

You can return an eBook or Audiobook before its loan expires. If you need more time, a Renew option may become available near the end of the loan period.

Your school or library controls the length of the loan period. When a loan expires, ePlatform automatically returns the title.

Return an eBook or Audiobook

To return a title before its loan expires:

  1. Open Loans.
  2. Find the eBook or Audiobook you want to return.
  3. Select Return.

Returning a title early can also free a space if you have reached your loan limit and want to borrow another title.

Automatic returns

You do not have to return a title manually when its loan period ends. ePlatform automatically returns the eBook or Audiobook to the library when it expires.

Your school or library sets the loan period for its collection, so the length of a loan may differ between libraries.

Renew an eBook or Audiobook

Renewal is available near the end of the loan period. A title can be renewed during the two days before its expiry date, provided nobody else has reserved it.

To renew a title:

  1. Open Loans. In the mobile or tablet app, select Loans from the bottom menu.
  2. Find the eBook or Audiobook you want to keep.
  3. Select Renew.

If Renew is not displayed, the title may not currently be eligible for renewal.

Assigned titles

An assigned eBook or Audiobook can be returned by the student. Decodable and Levelled Readers are always available and do not use loans, so returning does not apply to them.

If you cannot return a title

Assigned eBooks and Audiobooks use the normal return option and can be returned by the student. If Return is not displayed, reconnect to the internet, refresh ePlatform, and try again.

Decodable and Levelled Readers do not use loans and do not need to be returned.

If you cannot renew a title

You may be unable to renew a title because:

  • Another reader has reserved it: You can reserve the title and borrow it again when it becomes available.
  • The title was assigned to you: Your school determines how long assigned books remain available.
  • No copies are available for another loan: Ask your teacher or librarian if the school may be able to purchase or request more copies.
