Browsing & Searching for Titles
You can browse your library’s collection when you want something new to read or listen to, or search when you already know the title, author, series, publisher, or ISBN.
ePlatform may look slightly different in a web browser and the mobile or tablet app. This guide explains where to find the main browsing and search tools.

Browse the collection
Browsing is useful when you do not have a particular book in mind. Your library may organise titles into collections such as New Additions or Most Popular.
In a web browser
- Open your school or library’s ePlatform website.
- Sign in using the method provided by your school or library.
- Browse the collections displayed on your library homepage, or select Browse to explore the catalogue.
- Select a title to open its information page.
In the mobile or tablet app
Use the shortcuts at the bottom of the app:
- Home displays your libraries and titles currently shown on your shelf.
- Library displays the eBook and Audiobook catalogue in collections such as New Additions and Most Popular.
- Browse lets you apply filters to the library catalogue.
Select a title to open its information page and see the available options.
Search for a title
Use the search field when you know what you are looking for. You can search using:
- the title of a book;
- an author’s name;
- the name of a series;
- an ISBN; or
- a publisher’s name.
- Select the search field.
- Enter the title, author, series, ISBN, or publisher.
- Run the search.
- Select a title from the results to open its information page.
Use advanced search
If you need to make your search more specific, use advanced search. This lets you search using details such as the title, ISBN, author, or publisher.
Use Browse filters
Filters can help you narrow the catalogue. They can also prevent a title from appearing if an existing filter does not match that title.
- Go to Browse.
- Check which filters are currently applied.
- Add, change, or remove the filters you want to use.
- Select Show results.
If a book you expected to see is missing, remove the filters and check the results again.
Improve your search
If you do not see the expected title, try:
- checking the spelling of the title or author;
- searching with fewer words from the title;
- searching with the author’s surname;
- searching for the series instead of the individual title;
- using the ISBN if you have it; or
- clearing any filters applied under Browse.
If you cannot find a title
If a title does not appear in your library’s results, it may be because:
- a Browse filter is hiding it;
- your school or library has not purchased the title; or
- the title is not available for your account. Your school or library controls which titles are visible to each reader.
If your library has not purchased the title, it may appear under Request a Title beneath the search results. Select Request if you want to ask your librarian to consider adding it to the collection.
Requesting a title does not make it immediately available. Your librarian will decide whether it can be added to the library.
For more help, see Requesting a Title or ask your teacher or librarian.
