Reviewing Patron Title Requests
Readers can request titles they would like your school to consider purchasing. Administrators can review these requests through the Patron’s Wish List in the ePlatform Shop.
A request does not automatically purchase or add a title to the Private Collection. An administrator must review the request and decide whether to purchase or decline it.

Open the Patron’s Wish List
- Sign in to your school’s ePlatform portal as an administrator.
- Open the Shop.
- Find Patron’s Wish List in the Shop menu on the left side of the page.
- Select Patron’s Wish List.
The navigation path is: Admin area → Shop → Patron’s Wish List.
Review a title request
The Patron’s Wish List provides information about requested titles and their requesters.
Before making a decision:
- check the requested title and format;
- review the information provided about the requester;
- search the Library Catalogue to see whether the title is already available;
- confirm that you are reviewing the correct edition or format; and
- consider whether the title is suitable for your school’s Private Collection.
To review titles already available through your portal, go to: Admin area → Manage Library → Library Catalogue.
Approve and purchase a requested title
If your school decides to purchase the requested title, add it to the Shop basket from the Patron’s Wish List.
- Open Shop → Patron’s Wish List.
- Find the request you want to approve.
- Confirm the title, edition, and format.
- Add the title to the basket.
- Review the basket before completing the normal purchasing process.
Adding a requested title to the basket begins the purchasing process. Review the basket carefully before completing the purchase.
After purchasing, check Admin area → Manage Library → Library Catalogue to confirm that the expected title and format are present in the Private Collection.
Decline a title request
If your school does not want to purchase a requested title:
- Open Shop → Patron’s Wish List.
- Find the request you want to decline.
- Confirm that you have selected the correct request.
- Select the X icon to decline it.
Review the request carefully before declining it.
Download the request list
You can download the Patron’s Wish List for reference in Excel or CSV format.
Use the download option on the Patron’s Wish List page, then store the file according to your organisation’s requirements.
The downloaded file may contain information relating to title requesters. Share and store it appropriately.
Notifications sent to readers
When a requested title is purchased
ePlatform sends an automated notification to the reader when their requested title is purchased, provided the reader entered their email address when submitting the request.
If the reader did not provide an email address, the automated purchase notification cannot be sent to them.
When a request is declined
ePlatform does not automatically notify the reader when a title request is declined.
If your school wants to tell the reader about the decision, this communication must be managed separately by the school.
Patron requests and Shared Collection voting
| Action | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Patron title request | A reader asks their school to consider purchasing a title. The school reviews the request through the Patron’s Wish List and may purchase it for the Private Collection. |
| Shared Collection vote | An administrator votes for a title to be considered for the Shared Collection. This uses a separate voting process. |
