How Monthly Additions works
Schools can suggest titles for their Shared Collection and vote on suggestions submitted by other participating schools.
- Each school can have up to 10 active title suggestions at one time.
- There is no limit on the number of suggested titles a school can vote on.
- Suggestions and votes are managed separately for each Shared Collection.
- Voting closes on the last day of each month.
- The highest-ranked titles are reviewed for addition to the Shared Collection at the beginning of the following month.
A suggestion or vote does not guarantee that a title will be added. Monthly results depend on the combined votes submitted by participating schools.
Open Monthly Additions
- Sign in to your school’s ePlatform portal using a staff or administrator account with Shop access.
- Open Shop from the top navigation.
- Select Monthly Additions from the left sidebar.
The navigation path is: Shop → Monthly Additions.
The Monthly Additions area contains options for:
- Voting Now: review and vote on current suggestions;
- Previous Additions: review titles added in previous months; and
- Request Titles Not in Shop: ask ePlatform to investigate a title that cannot currently be found in the Shop.
Suggest a title from the Shop
If a title is available in the Shop but has no copies in the selected Shared Collection, you can suggest it for Monthly Additions.
- Open the Shop.
- Browse or search for the required title.
- Open the title’s information page.
- Confirm that you have selected the correct title, edition, and format.
- If the title shows zero copies, select Suggest for Monthly Additions.
- Select the Shared Collection for which you want to suggest the title.
- Review the suggestion and submit it.
After submission, the title appears in the voting area for the selected Shared Collection, where participating schools can vote on it.
If your school belongs to more than one Shared Collection, make sure you select the correct collection when submitting the suggestion.
Vote on suggested titles
- Go to Shop → Monthly Additions.
- Open the current voting area.
- Review the titles suggested for your Shared Collection.
- Use the upvote or downvote control beside a title to record your school’s preference.
- Repeat this process for any other titles your school wants to review.
You can return during the voting period to review the current suggestions and update your school’s votes.
How votes are counted
Votes are recorded for the school portal rather than separately for each staff member.
If several staff members at your school have Shop access, they contribute to the same school-level vote. If one staff member changes the vote for a title, the school’s recorded vote is updated.
This means schools receive equal representation regardless of how many staff members have access to the Shop.
Request a title that is not in the Shop
If you cannot find a title in the ePlatform Shop:
- Go to Shop → Monthly Additions.
- Select Request Titles Not in Shop.
- Enter the requested book information, including its title and author.
- Include the ISBN and required format where available.
- Review and submit the request.
The ePlatform selection team will check whether the title can be sourced from the publisher and made available for future voting.
Some titles may not be available because of publisher restrictions, exclusive distribution rights, or licensing availability. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the title can be added to the Shop or Shared Collection.
View previous additions
- Go to Shop → Monthly Additions.
- Select Previous Additions.
- Review the titles added following previous voting periods.
Use Previous Additions to keep track of new eBooks and Audiobooks added to your Shared Collection.
