Before you begin
Confirm that:
- you can access the ePlatform Admin area;
- the class has been created;
- the required students belong to the class; and
- the book has been assigned to the appropriate students.
Book assignments are managed under Admin area → Manage Classes → Assign Books.
Open the class assignments
- Sign in to your school’s ePlatform portal using a staff or administrator account.
- Open the Admin area.
- Find Manage Classes.
- Select Assign Books.
- Open the class or assignment you want to review.
The complete navigation path is: Admin area → Manage Classes → Assign Books.
Review assigned books
Use the assignment information shown for the class to confirm:
- which titles have been assigned;
- which students received each title;
- whether the correct class was selected; and
- whether any assignments are no longer required.
If an assignment is incorrect, use the available assignment controls to update or remove it. Check the selected title and students carefully before applying any changes.
Review reading progress
Open the relevant class or assignment and review the reading-progress information available for each student.
When reviewing progress:
- make sure you are viewing the correct class;
- confirm that the expected title was assigned;
- check that the student belongs to the class; and
- compare the information with the assignment you created.
Reading progress should be considered alongside the student’s broader learning context and any classroom activity that may not be recorded in ePlatform.
Review class statistics
Open a class and select its statistics area to review activity for the selected students and date range. Use the available filters to view All Books or Assigned Books.
Class statistics can include:
- reads of Decodable and Levelled Readers, separated into fiction and non-fiction;
- eBook and Audiobook loans;
- average reading time;
- the books opened by each student; and
- reading time for each student.
Use the table headings to sort the information when you need to compare students or activity.
Download class reports
The class reporting options include:
- Book Assignments Report
- Reading Statistics Report
- Notes and Highlights Report
Reports download as Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) files.
If reading progress is missing or unexpected
Check the following:
- Open Admin area → Manage Classes → Assign Books and confirm that the title was assigned to the student.
- Open the class and confirm that the student is included in its current membership.
- Go to Admin area → Patrons and confirm that the student’s patron account is active.
- Confirm with the student that they are signing in with the correct school account.
- Confirm that the student is opening the assigned title through that account.
If the assignment and patron account are correct but the expected information is still unavailable, contact ePlatform Support.
If a student is missing
First review the class under:
Admin area → Manage Classes → Add Classes
Confirm that the student has been added to the class. If the student cannot be found, go to Admin area → Patrons and check that their account exists and is active.
Manually managed patron accounts
To add or update multiple manually managed accounts, go to:
Admin area → Patrons → Import / Update Patrons
Accounts managed through SSO or another integration
Confirm that the student is present in the connected source system and that their synchronised account information is current. Ask your IT team to review the source account if necessary.
View broader library analytics
Class and assignment information is useful for reviewing specific students and assigned titles. For broader information about library usage and borrowing activity, go to:
Admin area → View Analytics & Reports → Analytics Overview
Use the analytics area when you need to review activity beyond an individual class assignment.
