Customising Your Library Banner Image, Logo and Theme

Customise your ePlatform library with your own banner, logo, colour theme, and banner background.

Changes can be previewed before they are published to your reader-facing library.

Before you begin

Confirm that you have:

  • administrator access to your library's ePlatform portal;
  • a PNG image saved on your computer or a URL for the image; and
  • permission to use the banner or logo.

The recommended banner size is 1440 pixels wide by 180 pixels high.

Open Banner, Logo & Theme

  1. Sign in to your library's ePlatform portal as an administrator.
  2. Open the Admin area.
  3. Find Customise Library Homepage & Compilation.
  4. Select Banner, Logo & Theme.

Upload an image from your computer

Use this method when the banner or logo is saved on your computer.

  1. Open Banner, Logo & Theme.
  2. Find the upload option for the banner or logo you want to change.
  3. Select the PNG file from your computer.
  4. Wait for the image to appear in the preview.

For a banner, use a PNG image with the recommended dimensions of 1440 × 180 pixels.

Use an image from an external URL

You can also provide the location of a banner or logo stored online:

  1. Copy the URL of the banner or logo image.
  2. Open Banner, Logo & Theme.
  3. Find the URL field for the banner or logo.
  4. Paste the image URL into the field.
  5. Check that the correct image appears in the preview.

Select a colour theme

The theme controls determine the colours used throughout your ePlatform library.

  1. Find the available theme colour boxes.
  2. Select a colour to preview the theme.
  3. Review how the selected colour appears with your banner and logo.

Selecting a colour updates the preview. It does not change the published library until you select Publish Changes.

Use the Banner Background control to choose whether the selected theme colour appears around your banner.

  • Enable Banner Background to display the coloured background around the banner.
  • Disable Banner Background if you do not want the coloured background displayed around the banner.

Use the preview to compare both options before publishing.

Preview and publish your changes

  1. Review the banner, logo, theme colour, and banner background.
  2. Confirm that the images display correctly in the preview.
  3. Select Publish Changes.
  4. Open the reader-facing library homepage and review the result.

Your current library settings are not changed until you select Publish Changes.

If an image does not display

  • Confirm that an uploaded image is in PNG format.
  • If you used an external URL, check that the complete image URL was pasted into the correct field.
  • Check that the image appears correctly in the preview.
  • Remember to select Publish Changes after reviewing the preview.

If the image still does not display, contact ePlatform Support and include your library name, the image file or URL used, and a screenshot of the preview.
