Accessing Decodable & Levelled Readers

Decodable and Levelled Readers are an optional collection included with your school’s ePlatform subscription at no additional cost. The collection contains more than 400 titles, but it must be enabled for your school before it appears in ePlatform.

If you cannot see the Decodables tab, the feature may not be enabled for your school’s ePlatform portal.

Check whether Decodables are enabled

  1. Sign in to your school’s ePlatform portal.
  2. Check the ePlatform menu for the Decodables and/or Levelled tabs (appears alongside Browse, Loans, Saved, etc).
  • If the Decodables and/or Levelled tab is displayed, the feature is already enabled for your school.
  • If the Decodables and/or Levelled tab is not displayed, the feature may not have been enabled for your portal.

Decodable and Levelled Readers are optional, so the feature is not automatically switched on for every school. The full Decodables and Levelled Readers collections are included at no additional costs for schools with an active eBook and/or Audiobook subscription.

To have Decodable and Levelled Readers enabled, contact us at ebooks@eplatform.co or email support@eplatform.co.

Include:

  • your school or library name;
  • your ePlatform portal details, if available; and
  • a request for Decodables to be enabled.

There is no additional cost to enable this collection.

Access the collection after it is enabled

After the feature has been enabled:

  1. Sign in to your school’s ePlatform portal.
  2. Select the Decodables or Levelled tab from the ePlatform menu.
  3. Choose a Decodable Reader or Levelled Reader.
  4. Select a title to open it.

Note: It may take a few minutes for the Decodables and Levelled tabs to appear after they have been enabled for your school. If the tabs still do not display after 10 to 15 minutes, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Clear cache and refresh: Clear your browser cache and perform a hard refresh of the page.
  • Sign out and sign back in: Log out of your ePlatform account completely, then log back in to reload your profile permissions.
  • Try a private browser window: Open an Incognito/Private window to test if a browser extension is blocking the updates.
  • Contact support: If the tabs are still missing after completing these steps, please reach out to your school administrator or ePlatform support.

Loans and simultaneous access

Decodable and Levelled Readers operate differently from standard eBooks and Audiobooks:

  • they do not have standard loan limits;
  • multiple students can access the same title simultaneously;
  • an entire class can use the same title at once; and
  • students do not need to wait for another reader to return a copy.

Schools also receive access to dedicated analytics and reporting for tracking engagement and student progress.

Who can use these readers?

Decodable and Levelled Readers can support early readers as well as older students who need targeted literacy support.

They may be useful for:

  • phonics and structured-literacy teaching;
  • early and developing readers;
  • EAL/D and ESOL students;
  • Learning Support programmes;
  • students receiving literacy intervention; and
  • older students with gaps in phonetic knowledge.

The collection includes high-interest Non-Fiction covering topics such as science, history, nature, volcanoes, earthquakes, and wildfires. These titles provide age-appropriate subject matter while maintaining a controlled reading level.

Order printed Decodable and Levelled Readers

Schools with Decodable and Levelled Readers enabled can receive a 25% discount on eligible printed readers in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia.

The current discount code appears in the upper-right corner of the main Decodables page in your ePlatform portal.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I see the Decodables tab?

The feature may not be enabled for your school’s ePlatform portal. Email support@eplatform.co with your school or library name and ask for Decodables to be enabled.

Does it cost extra to enable Decodable and Levelled Readers?

No. The collection is included with eBook and/or Audiobook subscriptions at no additional cost.

Why isn’t the collection automatically enabled?

The feature is optional because every school has different literacy and curriculum requirements. It can be enabled for schools that want to use it.

Are Levelled Readers included with Decodables?

Yes. The feature includes both SuperLit Decodable Readers and Levelled Readers, including BookLife titles.

Can an entire class use the same title?

Yes. Decodable and Levelled Readers support simultaneous access and do not have standard loan limits.

What if the Decodables tab is already displayed?

The feature is already enabled for your school. Select the Decodables tab to open the collection.
