Using SuperLit Decodable Readers
SuperLit Decodable Readers are phonics-based books with interactive tools that help readers practise specific letter-sound relationships. Each title includes activities before, during, and after the story.
Decodable Readers support unlimited, simultaneous use. Multiple readers can open the same title at the same time without placing a reserve.

Open a Decodable Reader
- Sign in to ePlatform.
- Open the Decodable Readers collection.
- Select a Decodable Reader.
- Open the title to begin.
The collection contains ten phonetic levels across Fiction and Non-Fiction. Each level contains texts using the letter-sound relationships introduced at that stage.
Complete the pre-reading pages
Each Decodable Reader begins with pages that introduce and review the sounds and words used in the book.
- Super Sounds: reviews the target phonemes for the title.
- Phonics Activity: asks the reader to find specific digraphs in the text.
- High Frequency Words: introduces words to review before reading the story.
Use Click-to-Sound-Out
Click-to-Sound-Out helps readers decode an individual word.
- Find a word you want help with.
- Select the word.
- Listen as the word is segmented phonetically.
Use Coloured Read-Along
Coloured Read-Along combines professional narration with word highlighting.
During the narration, words are highlighted in time with the audio so the reader can follow the written text while listening.
Listen to fiction soundscapes
SuperLit Fiction titles include contextual background audio called soundscapes.
The soundscape plays after the narration ends and provides audio connected to the setting of the story.
Use the reading-support features
Decodable Readers may also include:
- Quick Questions: questions about the text.
- Word Watch: definitions for words used in the book.
- Partner Prompts: prompts for discussing the text with another reader.

Each title finishes with pages designed to reinforce the sounds and words used in the book.

Why standard eBook settings are unavailable
Decodable Readers are designed differently from standard eBooks. They use specialised phonics tools such as Click-to-Sound-Out and Coloured Read-Along instead of the standard eBook settings and Immersive Reader.
