Translating Text with Immersive Reader
Microsoft Immersive Reader can translate an individual word or the complete text into another language. Translation is available for more than 150 languages.

Open the translation settings
- Open Loans.
- Select the eBook and then select Read.
- Select the Immersive Reader icon inside the eBook Reader.
- Open Reading Preferences.
- Find Translate.
- Select the language you want to use.

Translate an individual word
Use word translation when you want to check the meaning of one word without translating all the text.
- Open the translation settings.
- Select the language you want to use.
- Select a word in the text.
- View the translation for that word.
Translate the complete text
You can also translate the complete text displayed in Immersive Reader.
- Open the translation settings.
- Select the language you want to use.
- Choose the option to translate the complete text.
Immersive Reader will display the text in the selected language.
Switch between the original and translation
You can switch between the original text and the translated version. This allows you to compare the two versions while reading.
Listen to translated text
Immersive Reader provides Read Aloud support for more than 50 translated languages.
When Read Aloud is available for the selected language, you can play the translated text as narration. The words are highlighted as they are spoken.
