How to Listen to an Audiobook

To listen to an Audiobook, borrow it from your library and select Listen. You can start listening immediately or open the Audiobook again later from Loans.

Find an Audiobook

Sign in to your school or library’s ePlatform.
Open Library or use the search field.
Find the Audiobook you want to listen to.
Select the Audiobook to open its information page.

Listen to a sample

An Audiobook may display a Sample option. Select Sample to listen to a short section before deciding whether you want to borrow it.

Listening to a sample does not borrow the Audiobook or add it to Loans.

Borrow and start listening

Open the Audiobook’s information page.
Select Borrow.
Select Listen to open the Audiobook player.
Select Play/Pause to start the narration.

The Audiobook is added to Loans after it has been borrowed successfully.

Continue listening from Loans

You do not need to search the library catalogue each time you want to continue an Audiobook.

Open Loans.
Select the Audiobook you want to continue.
Select Listen.
Select Play/Pause to continue listening.

Open an assigned Audiobook

If your teacher assigns an Audiobook to you, it may appear directly under Loans.

Open Loans.
Find the assigned Audiobook.
Select Listen.
Select Play/Pause to begin listening.

Your school decides how long an assigned Audiobook remains available.

If you cannot start listening

If an Audiobook does not display a Listen option, check that:

you borrowed the complete Audiobook rather than only playing its sample;
the Audiobook appears under Loans;
you are signed in to the correct school or library account;
the title is not still reserved and waiting for an available copy; and
the loan has not expired and been automatically returned.

If the loan has expired, search for the Audiobook and borrow it again if it is available. Ask your teacher or librarian for help if you still cannot open it.
