Using Bookmarks, Notes & Highlights
Use bookmarks to save a location in an eBook. You can also highlight text, attach notes to highlights, and return to your saved annotations later.

Add a bookmark
- Open Loans.
- Select the eBook and then select Read.
- Go to the page you want to save.
- Select the centre of the page to display the reading menu.
- Open the bookmarks control and save your current location.
Open a bookmark or recent location
The same reading-menu control provides access to your bookmarks and recent locations.
- Open the eBook.
- Select the centre of the page to display the reading menu.
- Open the bookmarks and recent locations control.
- Select the saved location you want to open.
Highlight text
- Open the eBook and find the text you want to highlight.
- Select the text.
- Choose one of the four available highlight colours.
Add a note to a highlight
Adding a note is optional. You can highlight text without attaching a note.
- Select the text you want to highlight.
- Choose a highlight colour.
- Use the note option to add a note to that highlight.
The note remains connected to the highlighted section of the eBook.
Review your notes and highlights
Your bookmarks, notes, and highlights are also known as your annotations.
Inside the current eBook
Open the annotations list to see the notes and highlights you created in that eBook. The list is clickable, allowing you to jump directly to the page containing an annotation.
Across all eBooks
Open Loans to view your Notes & Highlights across all titles.
Can teachers see notes and highlights?
Yes. Teachers can generate a Notes and Highlights Report through the Classes area.
This report allows teachers to review the notes and highlights students create while reading assigned or borrowed eBooks.
