Overview
Loan periods on ePlatform are managed at the global site level. Because loan durations are applied across your entire digital collection, individual titles cannot have their loan periods customized or modified on a per-title basis.
If you need to adjust how long students or users can borrow titles, you can update your global site settings.
Changing Your Global Loan Period
Updating your loan period will adjust the default lending duration for your entire digital library.
Steps to update loan duration:
Log in to your ePlatform administrative dashboard with administrator credentials.
Navigate to Admin in the top menu.
Select Global Site Settings.
Locate the Loan Period field.
Enter or select your desired loan duration (e.g., 7 days, 14 days, 21 days).
Click Save to apply your changes.
Important Notice: Updating the Loan Period setting in Global Site Settings will change the borrowing duration for all titles site-wide. This setting cannot be applied selectively to specific books or collections.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set a longer loan period for specific reading list titles?
No. Individual titles cannot have custom loan durations. Any changes made under Global Site Settings will automatically apply to every title in your library.
Will changing the global loan period affect books currently on loan?
Generally, global loan period updates only apply to new loans checked out after the change is saved. Active loans usually retain their original due date until returned.
